Every legacy begins with a decision. For Krishna, that decision was made by a thirteen-year-old boy — carrying nothing but responsibility, determination, and hope.

At just thirteen, Krishna left his birthplace of Kegalle for Negombo — carrying little more than responsibility and determination. He joined a jewellery establishment as an ordinary wage worker, willing to work harder than anyone else.
What began as survival became a passion. Krishna immersed himself in the trade — learning patiently, observing deeply, and building trust through honesty and relentless hard work until he had mastered the art of jewellery.
Driven to uplift his family, he took a bold step and launched Krishna Jewellers. A dream, at last, turned into reality.
Like many great journeys, success was not immediate. Due to mismanagement, the business collapsed. He fell — but he did not stop.
He rebuilt himself through gold refining, where his commitment to quality quickly earned respect. Yet because of his kindness and trusting nature, he was taken advantage of — leading to heavy loss, and to the darkest hour of his life.
One thing remained stronger than defeat — his love for his family. Choosing courage over surrender, Krishna decided to begin again. From scratch. For his family. For his dream.
Step by step — through discipline, resilience and uncompromising quality — he rebuilt what had been lost. Business communities across Negombo stood with him, not for status, but because they trusted the man behind the work.
His two sons joined the business. Together they introduced structure, corrected the past, and guided Krishna Jewellers toward sustainable growth and profitability.
The brand was reborn — carrying a new identity while staying rooted in the values that built it. More than a revival: the continuation of a father’s dream.
Two months ago, Krishna passed away. But his story lives on — in every relationship built with integrity, every piece crafted with care, and every step taken by those who carry his name forward.
He fell, and rose again — rebuilding with dignity each time life tested him, never surrendering his dream.
A trusting, generous heart. He gave of himself freely — and it is the lives he touched that measure his true wealth.
Known for quality gold and honest dealing. Trust, not marketing, is what built the name Krishna Jewellers.
His story lives on — in every relationship built with integrity, every piece crafted with care, and every step taken by those who carry his name forward.
In loving memory of V. Balakrishnan (Krishna), founder of Krishna Jewellers.
